After about 4 hours of ferrying my friend Paul to the doctor in Bothell and then to Costco to fill multiple prescriptions I decided to head to Seattle to pay my respects to an old furry friend. My friends Cliff and Laura had to put their family dog Singer to sleep while I was away. Her heart was failing. Over the years they raised a number of guide dogs but Singer was their own and the news hit me pretty hard as well. I was glad I got to spend time with the old girl on the 4th of July.

| Picked this daylily for Laura to plant in her garden in memory one special dog. |

| I left with these beautiful, french green beans freshly picked from Laura's little veggie garden. |
