I remember the years when my sister and brother-in-law kept their nursery open 7 days a week in the summer. Thank goodness they decided to close on Sundays some years back although it's not unusual to have people pull in the driveway and just start walking through the plants even though the closed sign is out. It makes me crazy!

This evening Lee's friend Marlis joined us for a supper of lobster linguini made with the leftovers from last night's lobster feast. Marlis also has a connection to the west coast because her sister Hannah lives in British Columbia. Over the years, our families have gotten together in Nova Scotia, Seattle and B.C. Her mother Gisela is from Germany and after living in Calgary for years now also lives in B.C. That woman can cook pastry like nobody else - cinnamon rolls and sachertorte to die for!
