Day 262 - Lemonade Stand

Years ago I picked up one of those little books entitled Life's Little Instruction Book:  511 Suggestions, Observations and Reminders on How to Live a Happy and Rewarding Life by H. Jackson Brown, Jr. Admittedly, books like these can be kind of cheesy but some of the ideas are great like "always stop at lemonade stands".  I have tried to do that whenever I can, in fact, I try to stop whenever kids are selling ANYTHING or raising money (carwash for ex.).  Check out a purchase I made years ago when visiting my sister in Nova Scotia and we came across some little girls selling rocks.  They were painted with cheerful pictures and words.

the sideways happy face and smile caption are faded now but
this little rock functions quite well as a doorstop in my home

As I headed home, I came across this group of kids in Cathcart with a lemonade stand.  They had two boys strategically positioned on either side of the stand to get the attention of drivers.  The best part was the little girl jumping up and down with her sign in a sort of crazy dance.  I actually turned around and went back. They were so cute that I had to take their picture which they LOVED.  When I gave them extra money for my one $.25 glass they tried to make me take more. They were genuinely sweet, enthusiastic and polite.  My thanks to you kids for making my day - I smiled all the way home.
