Day 242 - Sunny May Day

You could almost hear the entire pacific northwest let out a resounding "Yes" when we awoke to a beautiful sunny Sunday. The neighborhood was alive with the sound of lawn mowers and weedeaters and my yard was no exception.  I only got about half the back yard weeded and the lawn mowed which I had to mow twice, each time in a different direction.  It felt almost decadent to be soaking up some vitamin D while getting something accomplished.

First, some highlights. . .

the beautiful early purple growth as one of my hostas emerges from the ground

my peony "Sarah Bernhardt" made it through the winter

nothing says spring like bleeding hearts

my giant yard waste toter is nearly full

Just a couple of low points. . .

laundry casualty - this poor little guy must have been inside a plastic tarp I ran through the washer

as if I needed a reminder to replace the deck this summer. . .my foot went through today
