Day 229 - It's an Edmonds Kind of Day

Today I was excited for several reasons.  My good friend Laura was taking me out for a belated birthday lunch and, more importantly, the sun was out.  I headed out about noon and traveled the back way from Everett to Edmonds.  It's a beautiful drive once you get to Olympic View Drive, winding through the woods and dropping down towards town past interesting homes with gorgeous views of the Olympic Mountains.  Oh yeah, "It's an Edmonds kind of day" is a slogan found on bumper stickers.  My thoughts have always been "seriously, that's the best that you can come up with"?

Blue sky, puffy clouds and sun!

Red Twig Bakery & Cafe in Edmonds

We had lunch here.  I'll give them another chance but these folks need to hire some decent help.

Found this great old feeder at a favorite shop - pretty sure it's a chicken feeder.  I plan
to use it as a planter - perhaps some sort of trailing sedum?  It was a good deal at $10.

Laura gave me a belated birthday gift with this great vintage card attached.

The gift included this wonderful soap and this set of pretty post-its and notes of all sizes and shapes.

Pretty western sky to finish off a great day.
