Day 224 - In the Shadow of the Moon

We have been watching this documentary in my 8th grade science classes.  A few years ago, we decided to integrate it into the curriculum at the point where we teach kids about moon phases and eclipses.  Over the past three years, I have probably watched it at least 15 times and while I practically have the dialogue memorized, rest assured, I'm not complaining.  I love this movie!  It really helps kids understand and appreciate the significance of the Apollo program.  It was great to hear that they are learning about the Cold War in their social studies classes so the timing couldn't be better.

It doesn't hurt that the teacher is a dinosaur who is old
enough to have lived through everything in the film
