Day 226 - Moon Phase Posters

For those of you who are regular followers, Odle and I often come up with the same ideas for our "school related" posts.  It's an unavoidable situation and today was one of those days.  My students were given the assignment to create a poster about phases of the Moon.  Really glad I stressed that I was looking for quality and that I included the part that says "bonus points awarded for creativity".   They have only been working for about 45 minutes and already, it seems to have paid off.

Here are the assignment requirements

I had to teach kids how to use these flat compasses
Here comes the creativity part.  A number of students chose to get creative with their representations of the Sun, or the Earth or things in between.

Perhaps the Sun is really a self-portrait

The Poles are important too

This one got me curious so I checked - there is no such place as Bowtie Island

Should I tell this guy that Mercury should be where Mars is?
