Day 218 - Phases of the Moon

My students were involved in an activity today where they have to model the phases of the moon using a shaded styrofoam sphere and a light.  I clamp a light bulb onto my stepladder and place that in the center of the room calling it the "Sun of Science".  Once the classroom lights are off, students are asked to work together moving the styrofoam sphere around their partner who is charged with describing the appearance from Earth.

Actively engaged or totally confused?
