Day 220 - Final "Rush Hour" Concert

Tonight Holly and I attended the third and final concert in our "Rush Hour" series.  The first week back from spring vacation is always hectic and we were looking forward to this break.

It was my turn to drive.  For the same reasons people feel compelled to clean their house when folks come over, I always get my car washed and give it a quick vacuum when someone else will be riding with me.  I love Brown Bear Car Wash so much I'd like to have some stock in the company.  They recycle their water, their prices are cheap and they're friendly - what's not to like.  Unlike my sister Lee, I love sitting in the car as it moves through.

I chose the "Beary Good" Package today

The giant scrubbing brushes start it all off

Down the sides

Then the wierd "rag strips" - not sure what they do

And the final rinse

After dealing with horrible Friday night traffic and doubling back to retrieve Holly's ticket, we arrived with about 5-10 minutes to spare.  No time for wine and small plates tonight.

Tonight's program

As I was listening to Rachmaninov's Symphony, I couldn't get over how familiar the theme was.  Not in the way that you know a piece of classical music but in a way that conjured up a hit song from the 80's.  I couldn't stop thinking about it and by the time the concert was over, some of the lyrics had come back to me.  I googled it when I got home and sure enough, here's what I found.

I had wanted to take a picture of the adorable little girl who usually sits at the end of our row but she was not there tonight.  I also wanted to take a picture of the couple in front of us but decided it would be inappropriate to pull out my phone and take a shot.  They were entwined with heads together completely blocking my view at times.  His hair is long, wild and unruly.  I would have titled the picture "Beauty and the Beast".  I'll let you imagine what it would have looked like.
