Spirit Days are some of the most difficult days to try and teach. Kids are focused on dressing up, not on learning and I can't really blame them. I typically dress up and no Spirit Day would be complete without my beads. We pulled off our flashmob surprise during the pep assembly - it was, at the very least, entertaining and we had a blast. Check it out! (requires Adobe Flash Player)

My birthday is this coming Sunday and Holly surprised me with an awesome birthday gift. It's a blank book which could be used for a scrapbook, a journal or whatever one's creative mind conjures up. I love the fact that it is made from a vintage book and includes the cover as well as some of the beginning pages. The illustrations inside the covers are great and Holly thought it would appeal to my Canadian roots. I LOVE it!
Once I arrived home, it was time to bring Grady to what I like to call "dog camp".
He loves riding up in the car and maintains that level of excitement for a certain amount of time.
The hardest part comes when I have to hand the leash off to somebody else. Unless we can distract him, he typically tries to pull towards me. It gets me right in the heart - every time.
