For the past week I've had more car issues than any person should have to deal with. Last Thursday afternoon (9/15), my car started sputtering and bucking as soon as I left the school parking lot so I drove as far as Redmond and called AAA. The tow truck couldn't get there for at least an hour so I enjoyed a lovely meal at Taco Time while I waited. He finally arrived and we towed my car to the Nissan dealership down the road from my house and they loaned me a car just like this. Then...when I was driving home on Friday, I got rear ended in the dealership car by a woman who gave me false information. I was so stressed out I didn't ask to see her license and insurance information, I merely asked her to write down her name, phone number and the insurance company.
The saga continued when it appeared as if I was going to have to pay $500.00 because we couldn't locate her or verify insurance. My insurance company brought it down to $200.00 but if there is a lesson to learn here it is - pull out your cell phone and take a picture of the car, the license plate and the person. Take a picture of their insurance information and their license. I had three, yes three cameras in my car and never even thought of that I was so freaked out.
After my car was repaired (a significant amount of money although I have spent very little on my car in the 10 years I've owned it), within a week, the check engine light came on again and I ended up renting a car from Nissan again. Needless to say, I was very reluctant to do so. I'm hoping this will be the end of my car saga until it gets replaced.
