Day 146 - Chromatography

Today my students solved "The Case of the Unidentified Ink" using paper chromatography.  The kids love the labs we do using this technique and I always throw in a few video clips from CSI to get some "real life" application.  They were given 4 pens (Exhibits A, B, C and D) along with a piece of chromatography paper containing a sample of ink from the check in question.  The matching chromatograms helped the kids determine if a crime had been committed.
